Please read “An Apology to Mr. Khan, Mrs. Smith & Gold Star Families”
Dear Mr. Khan,
I want to preface this letter by stating that I respect your son’s sacrifice for this great nation. By all accounts, he is a true hero that sacrificed himself in service to our country. For that I am thankful.
As a veteran, I watched your comments at the Democratic National Convention with a mixture of sadness, and anger. The United States has a military comprised of volunteers. Every single member has made the conscious choice to join the military and serve. There is not a single service member who has been forced into service. It is important for all service members (and apparently, their families) to understand that service to this great nation does not imbue one with special privileges or rights. I found your comments troubling when you said: “Have you ever been to Arlington cemetery? Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing and no one.”
Does it matter whether Mr. Trump has sacrificed “…nothing and no one?”…has Ms. Clinton “..sacrificed” for this nation? How about Mr. Obama? Your comment stating that Mr. Trump “…has sacrifice no one” is alarming. Are you intimating that YOU sacrificed? Sir, your son willingly sacrificed himself. As a father I cannot imagine the pain you must feel but his sacrifice is his own. He was not forced to serve.
I am troubled that you would allow a party that has little more than contempt for the US Service Member to parade you into the DNC to denounce Donald Trump. Did you watch when protesters at the DNC booed and heckled Medal of Honor recipient Capt. Florent Groberg? Did you notice your party interrupting the moment of silence for slain police officers? Your own hypocrisy in not denouncing these acts and instead using the DNC as a platform to make a political point is disgraceful. The simple fact is that whether one served or sacrificed does not give greater power to their statements. One vote is as valuable as another. That sir, is why our Country is great. Your condemnation of one person for a statement while standing idly as your party disparages veterans and police officers is the height of hypocrisy.
To conflate the need to prevent potential terrorists from entering our country with the belief that ‘all Muslims’ should be banned is simply wrong and disingenuous. As a reminder, Mr. Trump said: ” “Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” The irony of your son’s own death at the hands of these very people in Iraq should not be ignored. I have little doubt that your son would have recognized the need to protect our country from these very people. In fact, he held is own troops back so that he could check on a suspicious car. Your son understood sacrifice and how to protect “his people”…’his soldiers’….’his fellow Americans’…
As you continue to make the media circuit and bask in the glow of affection cast upon you by a party that has little regard for your son’s own sacrifice, and veterans in general, I would ask you to consider your comments and your position more closely.
Respectfully,
Chris Mark
US Marine and Navy Veteran.
You Know nothing of my brother, He served with honor and gave his life for America and his fellow soldiers. If it was the other way around, He wouldn’t make a blog trying to discredit your military service. He would be praising your service and sacrifices, regardless of what political party you were affiliated with or what your family would say in your absents. Khan’s words must have really struck a cord with you, to get you so Sad and upset?. sometimes the honest TRUTH does that to some people. You discredited yourself and what you stand for in this country. when you defend a man who never served and more than likely curses the military under his breath. Khan has more patriotic’s in his finger than you have in your entire body. but I understand and so does Khan. It in your natural to do and say the things you do with no recourses because of your military expertise you think, you have this right to be objective. regardless of any truth. mostly opinions and bad ones at that. How sad that a father can defend his son honor and wishes and that some fellow soldiers can’t embrace it. Deep down it’s your hatred of Muslims no matter if they live in this country or another. it’s the principal of the fact here, that a Muslim Boy, A Man gave his life for this country and you’re here left to make blogs. bitter that someone did a better job than you defending this country and his father has the guts to tell the world the truth. in the states, they have a word for that….Sour grapes. You have a good day, Mr. Mark.
i certaily did not try to discredit his service. he is a true hero and i was clear i believe this. i thank people like. him for his sacrifice. no sour grapes here.
I agree with every word that you say. God bless you.
Mr. Mark, I too served honorably for this great country of ours. I read your post and I have to say that I agree. I don’t see where and how you disrespected anyone one. This topic, in my opinion has become extremely “personal”, people are addressing it however it applies to them. Mr. Khan, I’m am deeply sorry for your loss, your son is a HERO!!!! His religion, his gender, his color, his ANYTHING does not apply here. This is what Mr. Mark is saying. He was my brother and I mourn for him as such. I don’t understand why everyone is making this for more then it is….a loyal AMERICAN Soldier who sacrificed himself so that I can sit here and type my two cents. There is no reason to label him in any other way!!!! Whether we volunteered or were drafted we all still did our jobs and fought proudly for our country. My job as a Volunteer Infantry Soldier during Desert Storm, for eight years was not any easier or different then the Drafted Infantry Soldier who came before me. Mr. Khan, I do not know the loss of a son, and honestly I pray to God that I never do, however, I do know the loss of my Brother, Sgt. R.Gonzalez, Sir, I pray for your family, I pray that you will somehow find peace, but I do feel like a hipocrat because I myself haven’t done it. Sir, the only thing I can say is that this Country was made of Brave men and women, like your son and my brother who will always be remembered for their choices. To them it might not have been heroic at the time, because they were just doing what was right. With all due respect, this is just my humble opinion.
Thank you. I have tried to be polite and respectful. Nothing more I can do.
Because YOU Say you are a relative of Khan does not make it so, and does nit give your words anymore importance, it once again shows whomever is writing them a hypocrite
This father used his son’s death to make a political point for Hillary Clinton. Also, he is an immigration attorney. ..So he doesn’t agree with Trump’s position on immigration. That is his absolute right to disagree. But what he did at the DNC was an absolute disgrace. His presence was all about getting votes for Hillary, boosting Muslim immigration, and a distraction from Hillary’s horrible history by bashing Trump. No matter how you spin it, what he did was a disgrace. His patiotic son must be turning over in his grave. Thank God that no one has told him what Hillary told the mother of the tortured and murdered Benghazi victim which is “Get over it !” That’s your Hillary Clinton’s advice.
So I guess the ploy to conjure votes at the RNC by parading around the mother of the Benghazi victim is not a disgrace? Leveraging either one of these incidents for political gain is wrong so the one sided argument is unfair. People are so focused on what political side they stand on instead of recognizing that there were sacrifices by both families. . .for the Benghazi incident and the war in Iraq. Focus on the family’s loss, not what it does for the party one follows.
Because he’s an immigration attorney he doesn’t agree with Clintons position on immigration??
How would you have any idea what his position on immigration is just because he’s an immigration attorney?
I do believe you are clueless as to what an immigration attorney does.
Well said again Mr Khan…. Mr Mark mentioned that the Military is a Volunteer Service and it was young Mr Khans decision. Well the bottom line is instead of becoming a Dr, Engineer or Lawyer where Mr Khan would be ALIVE and well today, he didn’t. He, just like Jesus, gave his life so that YOU Mr Mark can live today. It was very sad and upsetting that you had the heart to say those words about the Khan Family. I pray to God that you never have to bury your child or grandchild due to any Military Service while you are alive. We ALL are entitled to the Freedom of Speech and that is what makes America ” from the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave”….. Have a Blessed Day Gentlemen …
Alisa- I am insulted and sad that you compare my Jesus to this mortal man. I am an evangelical and I take that statement as blasphemy. You need to respect our Savior in His sacrifice for the saving of our souls and eternity in heaven. And many good American citizens have died in wars. Be more respectful. What a spectical this man has man in memory of his son.
YOU are the epitome of hypocrisy, Alisa, as Mr. Mark did nothing but praise the soldier and defend his honor and memory while the DNC is using him to further a political agenda which would like nothing more than to cripple our military. Mr. Mark deserves, dare I say COMMANDS your respect as a willing servant in out voluntary military. He did no disservice to the soldier who gave his life for us, rather he is upset and angry at the political exploitation of his sacrifice. Mr. Mark now deserves an apology from you because he too is a voluntary servant working for you, no matter how ungrateful or no mater the lack of contrition on your part..
explain to me how obama has sacraficed and served or for that matter hillary clinton, ill tell you nothing nadda zip, hillary lied bold faced directly to families of people who died serving this country as it has been proven at the time she was emailing her own family the truth, explain why it was this certain family was chosen to speak, ill tell you, they are muslim and were used to attempt to nanipulate the agenda they want to portray, i hate no one and ggave 10 years of service to my country, the country that now seems to have issues with vetting foreigners who might wish to do us harm and to stop ourselves from making it easier for them to do so, my trump has never once said he wants to stop immigration of any kind, he has stated he wants to stop illegal immigration, he has stated that until such time as people can be properly vetted we should not allow those from a country swamped in terrorism and those from war torn areas, how is it this makes no sense, you lost the argument as soon as you have no ablility to explain why of all the tens of thousands of familes who have lost and sacraficed a muslim family was chosen, to represent such loss for us all, you should look inside your own hate filled heart and ask yourself why you are so blinded by hillary clinton who by as the fbi addmited lied, conned , manipulated and mismanaged the state dept, no my friend it isnt this soldiers opinion that bothers you it is the fact it is spot on
This really has nothing to do with what religion or background your brother/family has. Every American should be truly grateful for his sacrifice. Your reply above completely misses the point that the democratic party politicized his death and disrespected your brother’s honor. I doubt that your brother would be smiling down from heaven right now knowing that your family is doing the pandering for a “democratic” party that wants more war in the middle east and is responsible for thousands of deaths. Hilary and Obama have greatly destabilized the Middle East and will continue to cause thousands of more deaths if Hilary is given the presidency.
You are saying that Donald Trump, Chris Mark, and myself wanting to vet Muslims who come to America during a war with Islam sour grapes? We have an enemy. THEY are MUSLIMS. They have sworn “DEATH TO AMERICA.” What part of “DEATH,” do you NOT understand?
Mr. Kahn’s relative. In the states, WE have a word for your hatred, and poorly written anti-American rant….YOU are barking up the wrong tree. YOU have a good day, Mr. Kahn’s relative.
YOU NEED TO READ THE ARTICLE……..YOU ARE JUST LIKE ALL LIBERAL DEMOCRATS. ……YOU DON’T READ VERY WELL. ….OR YOU SKIP OVER THE PARTS YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE OR UNDERSTAND! YOU LIBERAL DEMOCRATS ARE A REALLY PITIFUL. ……YOU SUPPORT A PERSON WHO IS A LIAR, THEIF, KILLER , ECT., …..DOESN’T REALLY CARE ONE BIT ABOUT YOU…..SHE WANTS HER FAME THAT IS WHAT HILLARY CLINTON IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE….FOR HERSELF!!!!! SO BEFORE YOU JUDGE SOMEONE, LEARN TO READ THE WHOLE BLOG, THE WHOLE ARTICLE, SEE WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON ……IT WAS SHAMEFUL THAT PEOPLE WERE YELLING WHEN ASKED FOR THAT MOMENT OF SILENCE. …..HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF IT HAD HAPPENED DURING YOUR FAMILY’S SPEECH!!!!
A moratorium on immigrants from an enemy nation is not a new thing to any country. It happened during the First and Second World Wars. People of German ancestry faced huge scrutiny and lets not forget the deplorable Japanese interment camps. But that’s what fear does it makes people react sometimes overact as in the case of the interment camps. But we’re not dealing with and outright country that we can absolutely point too. It is difficult to discover who has an askew point of view-case in point Col Nidal Hassan. I don’t understand how anybody that wants to lead this country can put an immigrants desires ahead of their countrymen. People who have worked to make this country great through hard work and various types of sacrfices. No one person or group is more important than the welfare of our citizenry. If they can be properly vetted great. But shouldn’t they be fighting for their country and their way of life were are their sacrfices?
Come on, the comments are right on. How anyone, who has ever lost or sent a relative into service for our country, could stand up for a woman who left our servicemen without help, in Benghazi, is beyond me. Beside that, sorry to say the Quaran dictates death, read it again, buddy. I never heard of a religion that gives you no choice, but convert or die.
Stop shooting the messenger – in this case Chris Mark! Read his comment carefully and stop hiding behind your agenda of advancing sharia law in this country.
Secondly – the father – Kahn – is affiliated with the Clinton Foundation and advancement of muslim immigration into this country.
This father is an activist and involved with the muslim brotherhood via Hillary Clinton and their foundations.
On the other hand – I understand that in islam it is advised to lie if it advances the ideology of islam.
If you want to read some more documented facts about Mr. Kahn and who he is go to http://www.theconservativetreehouse.com.
Mr. Kahn is a tool and sadly uses his sons death as a mean to advance his own interest in unlimited muslim immigration.
Mr. Khan, First of all, I am sorry for your loss and your family’s. However, I do believe that, if you re-read the blog post, you will realize that your brother’s sacrifice has not been mocked; it was a flagrant nose-thumbing by the DNC to counter the appearance of Benghazi victims’ relatives — people who died undefended because of Clinton and Obama’s direct orders that they should not be defended. This administration, of which Hillary Clinton has been part, has treated our troops and our veterans with nothing short of disdain, yet your parents have chosen to be complicit in allowing these despicable politicians to exploit your grief. Your parents should have been wiser than to allow that.
Very well said Khan’s relative.
“Khan relative” ? more like paid hillary clinton shill making the online rounds to discredit anyone calling out the Democrat party for what they are: Anti-Military, Anti-Patriotism, Anti-Freedom. Don’t disgrace this poor fallen soldier or his family by this dishonesty.
Gotta say….It is beyond amazing that someone who VOTED for the iraq war, Hillary Clinton, has the balls to parade around the parents of fallen soldiers to “prove” that she has the judgment to…get us involved in MANY more wars?
Chris Mark, good on you for writing this letter, it needed to be said.
And, sir, you know nothing of the author. Mr. Khan unfairly criticized Trump and the author called him on it. It has nothing to do with your brother’s service and sacrifice. Using his death for political purposes discredits your brother’s sacrifice. You make suppositions about the author, such as his patriotism, that have no basis in knowledge or fact. You are guilty of the same things you accuse the author of. And, I’m not sure that getting killed means that your brother “did a better job” than the author in defending this country. It just means he got killed.
If you want to discuss hatred, why don’t you discuss Muslims’ hatred of the western world, Jews and Christians?
Personally, I doubt you are related to Mr. Khan. You are probably a DNC operative.
Have a good day, Mr. Anonymous Khan’s “relative”
Chris: Salute, hero. Hand over heart in sincere respect.
My husband served in the Marines in the 60’s, Viet Nam and draft years when his brothers at arms were forced into service. Your letter left him deeply saddened and ashamed you claim to be a Marine. It is one’s service that matters, not whether Capt Khan volunteered or was drafted, as many who were forced into service served their country well and acquitted themselves honorably. Yet by implication you claim their service is somehow less. It seems apparent that your service was voluntary and probably stateside or out of harm’s way.
Why do you find Mr. Khan’s reference to Arlington troubling? Our national cemeteries impress upon us the enormous sacrifice made by those in military service in any number of conflicts and serve as a reminder of the horrors of war.
As far as your comments about “sacrifice” are concerned, it is only Trump who has condemned Muslims and called for their exclusion, so your claim about the lack of “sacrifice” of others who have not called for Muslim exclusion is not only irrelevant but disingenuous.
my apologies to your husbsnd. my comments were not intended to make those who were drafted appear less comitted. i hve nothing but respect forvtheir service.
Chris.. thank you for you reply to the Mr. Khan.. it is so sad that the Democratic Party has to stoop so low… as to DIS-honor a fallen soldier.. ( and that is exactly what they did in my mind) Those of us who served (1965-1969) served because we believed in our country… and the freedoms we have because of those who sacrificed.. Chris, many kudos to you.. I have sent your letter via e-mail to all my contacts..
Trump has not called for the exclusion of muslims. He simply wants to exclude those who adhere to destruction of all but muslims. All muslims who publicly denounce the violent and deadly form of islam should be considered. Your backhanded way of describing Chris’ reference to voluntary service is what is disingenuous. Please try to keep this in the context which it was meant to be. Chris honors by benefit of personal experience ALL veterans and military personnel (not withstanding the dishonorable, no reference implied). Let us all remember that that within these forums it is impossible to have a complete and thorough dialog on important subjects such as this. That being said, I completely agree with Chris Statements.
Bravo, Chris Mark!
I am a veteran too and I don’t see where anyone sees Trump as a hater, a racist or a bigot for wanting to make our country better and safer than ever before and I sure as hell don’t support and I won’t vote for the criminal Hillary Benghazi Clinton and it makes me sick to think that any veteran would support or vote for the person that let four fellow Americans die in Benghazi and then lie to their families, trying to blame it on a video!
Eight investigations have not proved that she or anyone left the Benghazi 4 to die
anymore than President Reagan left 236 or (263?) Marines to die in the bombings of
their barracks during the Lebanon Civil War into which he sent them! Also 2 parents
of the Benghazi four say Hillary Clinton said nothing about a video being the cause while two claim she did….I sure hope that some Republicans have not used these poor
parents to discredit her before her run again in 2016 for POTUS. Smells fishy…
Omg only two? We all heard it! It’s recorded on video. Where have you been? Why are you justifying Hillary’s actions based on someone else’s actions?
Wake up you shrill no one believes that except you disrespectful, racist democrats.
Terry, you can not compare Benghazi to Lebanon, the attack on the barracks was a single swift episode, the attack on Benghazi was a prolonged and complicated over MANY hours. There was time to respond, we had available assets with in strike distance. The Secretary of State made a conscious decision NOT to respond.
It smells fishy, because it is, because Hillary allowed those men to die.
Respectfully,
COL C
Thats a load of horse shit , it has been proven that the Ambassador was denied 4 times his request for more security that denial came from the State Dept . You liberals hate truth and fact !!!!!
Just like that phony FBI “investigation”! Yea she did it, but we can rewrite the law just for HER case????
Do you know who let 4 people die in Benghazi? Research the members of Congress (majority GOP) who in the 3 years prior to that day, voted to cut embassy security spending.
One thing I learned from listening to the testimony on C-SPAN was that funding was not an issue in this case.
It’s the singling out of Muslims, Muslim Americans, as well as the religion as a whole that makes the statement bigoted, racist and hateful. It’s like saying all those German Scots-Americans need a better haircut.
Chris. Thanks for having the guts to tactfully and professionally say what many of us vets have been thinking. Neither party should be trotting the families of dead soldiers or foreign service officers out their for political points. When the election is over, neither the DNC nor the RNC will have any use for these families.
The VA is a disaster, 22 veterans commit suicide everyday – where is outrage about that? At the end of the day, the only ones who will stand up, stand by and take up for us….is us. Don’t lose the faith and keep fighting the good fight. Semper Fi brother.
I am also a vet, retired after 25 years in service and it disgusts me that any military person would make excuses for what Donald Trump has espoused. I joined to fight the very kind of rhetoric and prejudice that Trump has used in this campaign. You can oppose the other party that is your right but don’t condone the use of hate-baiting that this man has continually disseminated.
Racist vets
Another classy comment by a Hillary supporter.
[…] Global Security, Privacy and Risk Management -Blog by Chris […]
Donut was okay for the RNC to bring in the mother of fallen person of the Benghazi attack! You opinion is one sided and as a military spouse and mother. You never recover from the loss of a child. Their son is a hero and if you really saw the interview it wasn’t about sacrifice. it was about the good Muslims in this county and how their son died for this country. Trump is a disaster and will destroy democracy. Thank you for your service. But next time you need to see both sides. This young man was your fallen brother!!!
I said he was a hero. I have numerous Muslim friends. My issue was with the father’s exploitation of the death for political gain. Nothing more.
Where was your outrage at the mother who used her son’s death in Benghazi for political gain at the RNC convention?
Hey…Look Dan. Your comment. I finally made it here after waking up. Now you have two comments posted. You are lucky?
Sooo…no similar outrage for a mother’s exploitation (or, perhaps more accurately, the exploitation of a mother) for the death of her son in Benghazi on the GOP convention stage? Or are you gonna delete my comment again because you don’t like your hypocrisy exposed?
I didn’t delete your comment before. There are nearly 500,000 readers of this post. I work through comments as I get to them. So…before you run off at the mouth, now see that your comment is posted.
I feel lucky. And apologize for jumping the gun, as it were. You’re a popular guy. So, do you see a double standard, or is it just the DNC that’s guilty of using a tragedy to prove a point?
My article was not a commentary on double standards. It was a commentary specifically on Mr. Kahn. That is all.
Agreed!!
You’re missing the point, Chris Mark. Khan isn’t saying that his son is more important than other soldiers. Trump is all over the place where Muslims are concerned — from banning them all, to banning just Muslims from terrorist-heavy countries, to banning everyone from those countries, etc. That suggestion in unconstitutional to begin with — hence Khan removing his copy from his pocket and offering to share. Khan and his wife have lost more than Trump, in that their son died fighting for a country that Trump may not have even allowed him access to.
As for your claims that the Dem party was disrespectful to military and LEO moments of silence — if you were paying attention, it was Bernie assholes who yelled and called out during those moments of respect. They’re not Democrats — they’re idiots who struggle for attention and apparently yelling during moments of respect is the only way they can get it.
Before anyone starts with the “libtard” name calling, I’m a life-long registered Republican. I happen to be tired of this kind of rhetoric and fact-less nonsense. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but please at least consider facts first?
i have considred them. i do have to point out the irony of calling sanders supporters idiots while asking not to br called libtard….not a word i use anyhow
I have noticed, Chris Mark, that you consistently avoid any part of a question you don’t like. For example, “I said he was a hero. I have numerous Muslim friends. My issue was with the father’s exploitation of the death for political gain. Nothing more.” This does not answer Joy Cook’s question, “… was okay for the RNC to bring in the mother of fallen person of the Benghazi attack?” Take a deep breath, and read with comprehension before you respond.
I wrote a post. I have now responded to over 300 comments in 18 hours. I have a family and a job. I cannot be engaged in extended discussions on every comment. Simply not time. Now Patricia…do you understand?(breath deeply)
U.S. Code, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter II, Part II, §1182: Inadmissible Aliens
Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
Not only is it constitutional, IT’S WRITTEN INTO LAW!!!
And didn’t Mr Khan challenge Donald Trump’s knowledge of the Constitution? Looks like he’s himself has chosen to overlook that part
The quote of which you speak above is correct, but you have to read the entire legal document or you will be misrepresenting it. The President has the authority to restrict ” any alien or class of aliens ‘” I believe refers to classifications of restricted aliens. It’s a long list, but I did not see any group who got restricted just because of their religion.
Most of the restrictions I found to be very reasonable because they were attached to some action or cause; terrorist activity or health concerns. But these actions were enforced by the agency who controls those investigations, like the Attorney Generals Office or the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
While I openly admit it was not an exhaustive search, I could not find any recent act by a President who restricted a person or group specifically based on their religion. Some post cited former President Jimmy Carter as restricting Muslims, however, he actually restricted a entire country (Iran) due to the hostage taking of Americans in that country.
The only other time I think our country restricted people already in our country was during the attack of Pearl Harbor. In that case, the President ordered Japanese American encamped and guarded by military personnel. It was during a declared at of war. At the time it was thought to be a good idea. History later determined it was a very bad idea.
Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

It’s not unconstitutional, it’s written into law… and if I understood correctly, Khan’s father is a lawyer. So, who is willfully being deceitful on the matter?
it was black lives matters bernie sanders supporters also peacefully protested outside and the dnc repalced them with actors to fill teir seats, dont see anyone name calling but you, guess that says all i need to know
Most people know that is within rights of the Constitution to limit or ban immigrant/refugee access to the US if they’re coming from a high terrorist area. Obama banned all admissions from Iraq in 2011- it was a 6 month ban. So clearly Kahn used his son as a tool to manipulate viewed opinions & convince them he was well versed in Our Constitution-when clearly he is not. That was a disgraceful move on his part, the Dem party & the DNC. Apparently it worked because all you kool aid drinkers have blindfolded your eyes. Why was there no reference to Obama’s Order to halt immigration from Iraq- why didn’t Kahn shake his little constitution at Obama too? Educate yourselves before you go on a public forum spewing words of hate & discontent. For the safety & security of our Great Nation please educate yourselves on the truth not just the garbage that the PAID media feeds you.
My father, vet btw, never registered to vote in his life until 2008 because he felt so strongly about Barack Obama. He voted for him and has been proud of that vote ever since. Everyone sees things differently. That is our freedom of choice. I’m not for Hillary but I’m definitely and definitively against Trump. He is a very racist and sexist person. He does not speak for all Americans and I am honestly embarrassed that he is representing our country now. The entire rest of the world laughs at us for even considering him as a presidential candidate. I’m seriously scared if he becomes the president. I don’t like Hillary either but he fucking scares me.
It is obvious that you support Mr. Trump! I didn’t see anywhere in your letter that you called this soldier a fallen brother. The statement was about good Muslims in this country. But I guess it was okay that Trump brought the mother of a fallen soldier from Benghazi to the RNC. I am a military mother and spouse. I think you need to look a little more into your Republicans and how they do not support programs for active and retired military. Mr Trump I wants to distroy democracy.
Lady I need to watch the movie about the soldiers hillary let die.I lost two in war.my brother and my father.she sold us out.apparently you are either married to a muslin or you are just a idiot.
Yes… Hillary has put our country in danger, our military in danger and has a heart of stone. She lies and has no remorse about it. She was careless with government emails. Get a slap on the hand and wants to be our President.
What’s sad is people will overlook all the wrong because they want to say they helped put the first female president in office. Not because she cares or can be trusted. No she is also in it for her self… Not the people.
America has been brainwashed into thinking that everyone wants to hear what they have to say why don’t you just shut the hell up turn off your CB radio and remove the flag from the back of your pick up truck. If you had any respect for the American flag you would know that putting the flag on the back of any vehicle is disrespectful according to the United States of America flag protocol. But you probably want to change that to because you don’t respect it because you don’t know it so you want to change it just like politics you don’t know anything about it but you want to change it. You want to reward them man who has been scheming and stealing from people his whole life Mr. Donald Trump is the problem with this country not the solution. When did we become a nation of redneck hillbillies who worship spoiled Silverspoon brats like Donald trump?
No one wants to hear your opinions so just shut up and leave that Muslim family alone. Havent they sacrificed enough already? just because you can say something doesn’t mean that you should. Why don’t you have enough common sense to just shut up? Shouldn’t a military man have enough discipline to know when to shut the hell up?
listen to your own advice. i like how you assume i am a redneck hillbilly. clearly over 2 million people care about my opinion including you…
Perhaps you should take your own advice Sarge? I am a vet myself and fell MUCH better seeing a flag on a vehicle as opposed to some thug walking across it! I have no doubt that Mr Khan’s some was a decent and honorable man, unlike some of the thugs mothers the DNC also trotted out. Both my parents served in WW2 and I served in Vietnam. To dishonor his son’s memory, pandering to the woman who has lied constantly is truly offensive. A lot of pot-kettle here. I do find it ironic that this brave, decent AMERICAN was killed by Muslims, yet the father blames Republicans???
Sgt Slaughter, Would you please post the link to show the statute that backs up your statement, “putting the flag on the back of any vehicle is disrespectful according to the United States of America flag protocol”? I’ve seen the referenced protocol as to how to display the USA Flag on a vehicle put not that it is disrespectful/out of order to do so. Thank you
Mr. Kahn never said he himself sacrificed. I’m most certain he was stating that his son as a Muslim sacrificed his life in the name of USA. His point also had to do with the fact that Trump wants to throw all Muslim’s (and many others) out and allow none to enter the US. So his anger was more directed at trump instead of Hillary, Obama or others because unlike Trump they still believe that there are good people out there.
For me it feels like you sir were listening to this with selective hearing and missed the entire point of his speech.
Troy, and why did Capt. Kahn enlist..? I am so sick and tired of you who support Hillary. YOU are undoubtedly unaware of the Clinton’s and their past, starting way back in the 60’s until now… I feel sorry for the future generations of this once great country.. You see Troy, I am in the sunset of my life and it really doesn’t much matter to me, it is those who I leave behind I feel sorry for.. and yes Troy I feel for your future also… May God Bless you..
You’re one to talk about selective hearing. Sounds like you need to clean your ears.
When one references someone else, as not having done something “what have you sacrificed”, by inference (standard English) intimates “having sacrificed”, in the context it presented. Not selective hearing, or listening.
Voice of reason. I agree.
More closely you say? Trump not Clinton or Obama is the one calling for a ban on Muslims, which is very hitlersque, unAmerican and totally impractical. Furthermore he has also shown total disrespect to veterans by saying ‘I like who weren’t captured in reference to John McCain’. Finally Trump I might add has not served for his country nor has his sons. In fact he dodged the draft several times years ago. The truth be known is that Trump is a blowhard of epic proportions. It is far unfortunate that Americans can’t see that emperor Trump has no clothes – just a cape of ignorance, arrogance and tax return ambiguity
Actually it’s very American, Jimmy Carter did it, we did it to the Japanese after pearl harbor. It’s called “protecting American citizens against a potential threat” now go to your safe place while we save this country from the likes of Hitlery Clinton!
It’s very American, Jimmy Carter did it, we did it to the Japanese after Pearl harbor. It’s call keeping America safe from potential enemies. If you don’t like it, you can go to your safe place while we save this country from the likes of Hitlery Clinton!
you do know after the hostages were taken jimmy carter did the exact same thing
Mr. Chris Mark…I want to “Salute” you sir for every word you stated! This statement you made is pure wisdom and honesty and is given from a clear minded…mature and sincere individual. NO ONE can invent…pretend…hire skilled political writers to come up with a statement that is worthy of ANY type of consideration compared to what you have said. I pray that blinded eyes and deaf ears will be opened to SERIOUSLY consider what you have said here.
You have the wisdom and the RIGHT to speak these words because you have faced and experienced and endured and can honestly see this issue from the view of a TRUE SOLDIER…YOU HAVE BEEN THERE!!
God Bless You for all you have said. You have encouraged my heart and given me hope. Thank You Sir
Mr Khan has every right to say what he is saying. Ad for an ex service member to support Trump ( who want to make the military do things that would be considered war crimes) you sir are obviously blinded by Trumps stardom. My father is also a vet and I showed him your comment. Disgrace!!!
You did not understand Mr. Khan’s message at all and the rest of the stuff which protesters at the DNC engaged in is irrelevant to your failure to understand the message — Navy Vet myself. Just saying.
Again for the 1000th time, Trump did NOT say ALL Muslims!! He said Illegals!! And there is nothing wrong about vetting refugees before allowing thousands of them in OUR country. We have to have borders or this country is at risk!! Hillary and Obama want to let them all in without knowing who they are. The jihads already know this! Are you willing to risk the lives of your loved ones because of this?
I think you have Muslims confused with Mexicans which probably comes naturally to you. He has indeed called a ban on anyone of the Muslim faith and for registering all Muslims in the country.
Maybe you should research before you comment.
He actually did say all Muslims. Here’s the link:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2015/dec/08/donald-trump-calls-for-complete-ban-on-muslims-entering-the-us-video
And nobody has called for allowing refugees in without the proper vetting procedures already in place.
Actually he did say all Muslims. Plus he said the all needed to be rounded up (he even went as far as to say, we will do this humanely, but it needs to be done now). At the same time he said that no Muslim from Counties that have attacked us, or from areas where terrorist attacks have taken place or Countries where yhere is war. In my book that means nearly every Country in the World where a Muslim may live. So a complete ban on a Religion, something this nation as never done. And by the way, when President Carter placed a ban, it was on Iranians only, and not on a Religion. Before you say something about me being a democrat, I am a life long Republican, who is very very disenchanted with where our great Party is headed.
amen jody…. these friggin bleedin hearts will get us all killed. See how fast they cry baby when its them or their sons that get killed…. warning to all libtards, go out and buy some burka’s…. have your wive’s and daughter’s wear them and get use to it…and that’s just the beginning.
Chris I fully agree with you and what you say. I too am a Veteran and have lost three members of my family and know the feeling of losing ones family members. I agree with you that he was a pawn used by the DNC to degrade Donald Trump, as there was no mention of Clinton, or Obama but that is okay as they just wanted to us him only to shame Donald Trump. These stories belong on TV with no usage of either party as we who served know why we serve as it is part of the oath that is given. Thank you for you Letter Chris and Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your comments.
I find it hard to believe that I am reading something from a professed conservative.
The argument that this letter makes is very simple: the sacrifice of the individual is not, also, the sacrifice of the individual’s community. But unless you’re some sort of psychopath or a nihilist, no one actually believes that. Taken to its logical conclusion, that argument means that Mr. Khan’s son died only for himself, not for his country.
As a conservative, I believe in my community. My community begins with my family. It includes my town, my state, and my country. Mr. Khan’s son, a member of his family, died in an IED explosion. His family, _as a unit_, sacrificed. So did his country. You cannot have the latter without the former.
Yes, we have a volunteer army. But that serves as a poor “gotcha!” when the redefinition of sacrifice as something inherently individual leads to such absurd conclusions.
Hillary Clinton is bad news. But I won’t soil my honor to score such a petty partisan point. Some things should be above politics.
Good points. thanks.
Dear mark
The issue here is trump and his ways to gain popularity by making insane statements..you can’t punish a whole population or ethinc group for the
Doing of few bad people. Bad and evil people exist
In every community, race, releigion etc.so today Muslims and Hispanics tomorrow he may exclude any other group.why not.do you know how many Muslims isis killed?you will be shocked.do you how many innocent civilians die every day in Iraq. Syria afaganestan.libya.you will be shocked.
Isis is not only the usa enemy.they are the enemy of humanity.the sad thing is that we have a bad hillary but a worst option with trump who has personal problems that will destroy America. So hillary is the best of worst.
My respect to all who made sacrifices for their country.
I appreciate your comments. I believe Trump is a better option than Hillary. This is the fundamental disagreement. Honestly, neither are my preference.
Chris,
You showed your lack of maturity by trying to tie the few boos from protestors
at the DNC to the moment of silence with the cop’s families and Medal of Honor
recipient to the whole Democratic Party?!! Do you have any clue how much our First
Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden have done for vets families the last 7 1/2 years? The comments by Dr. Cox below where he owned you and predicted accurately your snide comeback as well as others by bglz, richardw, gaziani and snuffy
which all accurately describe what the Khans were expressing and you in your blind love for the chicken hawk that is Trump cannot or will not see. One lady named Cindy
below foolishly writes that all he wants is a temporary ban on “terrorists” forgetting that the orange buffoon said “Muslims” which the vast majority of would visit here or
immigrate with peaceful intentions.
I am neither Democrat nor republican.I look at each one running and watch them.I look at what they have actually done for this country and for others if they will be there for our soldiers, elderly, stand up for our enemies. I did not vote for Obama in last elections because he was so false, fact he hide his life history.hillary has a long history of lying, going against the Constitution, causing harm, death to our soldiers and comspired with our enemies. She will destroy just like obama has and divide our people more .Trump has nothing to hide.his life is a open book.he takes from Noone hillary took campaign money from islamic and Saudi Arabia thugs.those in California who are against him are afraid he will make them pay their share where before they got loop holes.they don’t care about us.gun control issue. They have bodyguards.transgenders using women’s bathrooms the same .we the people are at risk here.hillary just wants to be the first woman president as obama me was the first black gay one.she cares nor for whites, blacks, mexicans, american native Indians only her own interests.it’s our future, our kids and theirs who are at stake.islamic muslins are coming into this nation because of her.8 military bases are filled with them training them .many believe obama intends to have major attacks before election.police officers are being killed by black lives Matters because they refused obama to kill us.the people.he asked them would you kill a American if I asked uou too and they told him no .and look at the idiots who are killing the very ones who stood up for you.all lives in this country matter.and that BLM is nothing but a bunch of people who are enjoying hurting others and lack God in their lives. So yes all here around me are voting for Trump.hillary had her chance as secretary of state.she sold us out.
Mr. Mark, Thank you for your service.
You fought for freedom of speech, which is what Mr. Khan utilized during the DNC. He chose to use the tragic, yet relevant circumstances of his own family to speak about his beliefs. Period.
I, in turn, used that same freedom of speech to comment. Thank you for your comments.

How utterly disgusting and sociopathic that a recently-immigrated Muslim immigrant family would EVER try to tell Trump he’s sacrificed
‘nothing.’ Note to the Khan family: Christian European-Americans built, toiled, sacrificed and died for hundreds of years to make the greatest nation on Earth. No one is denigrating your son’s service in our military, but we are in a war with Islam, and it is very disturbing the treasonous Democrat Party would even attempt to use your family in such a sadistic way. And it is even more disturbing that your family would accede to such a scheme (if you’re as patriotic as you claim to be!)
I the course of my life I have seen countless of ordinary citizens sacrificing their lives for other not only soldiers does that but respect to all uniform personnel. Trying to diminish Mr Trump at a political campaign gathering over a immigration policy and relating it to your sons death is
Completely absurd and its an insult on the fallen Herod.
Mr. Marks, I was with you until your point that the parents of a fallen soldier have not sacrificed for this great nation. Poitics aside, that view is so devoid of decency and patriotism as to discredit not just everything you say on this issue, but yourself as well. It’s one thing to write an open letter from your desk and post for the world to see. However, find a Gold Star family nearby you, ring their dorrbell and then tell them to their face, “I am a former US Marine and I believe you have sacrificed nothing by the death of your child.” Well, without the accountability of seeing the pain in their faces that you have caused, you have done that countless times with your letter.
Imagine someone ringing your mother’s doorbell with that message after you died in battle. Disgusting.
When disapproval of a political opponent causes you to sink to level of dishonoring the families of fallen service members – those who HAVE paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country – it is time for you to reevaluate your priorities and re-find your moral compass.
God bless you, sincerely
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
well said Mr. Mark. Ignore the fools who writeand don’t think first. Just another sign of the cancer eating away at our country,
VR, Prc USN ret
How can you say his family have not sacrificed? They lost the man they gave birth to and raised in the service of their country. They gave their most precious thing to the country, and it was destroyed.
That is saying that no family who send a son or daughter to the military and loses them makes a sacrifice, that no military wife or husband who sends their beloved out the door to a deployment, while they stay at home and raise children who might never see their parent again, are is making a sacrifice.
You clearly have no respect for the families that make the service possible, or the grief of that kind of loss.
My point is simple. In today’s military people choose to go into harm’s way. Does his family suffer? No doubt. They did not GIVE him..he chose to go. I took issue with his father politicizing the death.
@ Chris . Hi I am from New Zealand. My great grandfather on my mothers side was a captain NZEF in WW1 and survived Galipolli. My grandfather served in WW2 on my fathers side as Bomb Aimer flying Officer 64 ops in 156, 622 & 7th elite Pathfinder force, he survived with his crew of 8, PA-OBOE “the lucky crew” There is a few books about them being published as we have the engineers memoirs… I wear his medals and my great grandfathers medals with pride every ANZAC day 25th April. Grandfather was awarded DFC, Polish Airforce Medal, Polish gold Cross & Commonwealth service medals.+ Bomber command medal. Let me tell you this! The very towns he helped free in poland , Germany, Belgium and the aid Drops in Holland his last 2 ops, are now taken over by SHARIA! Molenbeek , Cologne and so forth…. I live in Australia now, and 50,000 Muslim MEN not women prayed on the streets in Sydney at the end of ramadan, we have had a terrorist attack, and many problems for years by ONE minority MUSLIMS! Many other refugees, and immigrants we have had no problem with. I am married to Filipina and they also have problems in her country with Muslims…. Also in Australia we have prayer rooms, banning of easter eggs!, Christmas carols in schools, of look the list is endless! Interest free sharia loans! They want the flag banned because of the union jack (st george cross) that one was in New Zealand believe it or not. Iranians who fled persecution in the 70s, bitching about our way of life to this day! seriously! Lebanese, Arminians, Syrians, the list is endless, of crime, the protests charlie Hebdo, smashing cop cars.. $500,000 worth of damage to WAR GRAVES! by muslims.Hizit al Tahir wants ANZAC day banned, all war memorials and parades banned, they have spat on vets marching also! Australia & New Zealand are the only last nations on earth to be someone immune to this well you would think so…. Here’s a little treat read this one …. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/army-chaplains-to-remove-conquer-from-102yearold-motto-because-it-is-offensive-to-muslims/news-story/637626171244b43c7661a9f430fc2c16
Chris Mark,
Sometimes it’s best, out of reverence and utmost respect, to not say anything; especially to a Bronze Star family whose son made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This is one of those times. Period.
As I stated numerous times. I would have said nothing if the father had not politicized the point. In doing so he invited commentary.
Even if the father did do as you say, “politicize the point”, it is still best to close your mouth. Learn what Trump has not: Some things do not warrant a response. Again, this is one of those times…EVEN if you believe a certain way. Just be quiet out of respect and move on. Be wise not heard.
I disagree. Somethings need to be said. I felt this was something that needed to be said.
Read the article!
Just curious about what you think about Donald and his remarks regarding John McCain not bring a hero? Also, you are sadly mistaken if you think Democrats feel contempt for our fighting men and women. Don’t blanket them all with partisan bullshit. I know plenty of liberal minds that have nothing but respect for those that fight for our freedoms. I’ll remind you that some of our most highly recognized servicemen are in fact Democrats. Go read about JFKs WW2 service for starters.
And John Kerry?
Wow. I am beyond shocked that an ex-service member would even think of posting something like this. Since when was active front-line military service by any individual (regardless of race, color or political affiliation) in America something that any sane person would choose to make any kind judgement or critique about??? Never mind a fellow veteran who has (I am assuming) confronted similar experiences and was fortunate enough to make it back home. Holy Cow, Trump must really be some kind of evil wizard because not only has he created huge separations and divisions within the country itself, he has also created separations and divisions in the minds of men who minds and characters are supposed to be beyond reproach and stronger than the rest of ours. I’m sorry Chris, support Trump all you want, but this was not the fight you should have taken up “on his behalf”. You sir, are, whether you like it or not, brother to Capt Khan in the most decent, honorable and respectable way possible. You should not have allowed that honor to be tainted by taking the side of a man like Trump who you share nothing of any significance with than (and I am guessing) pigmentation. Imagine if that was your own parents on that podium. Would you want something like this to have been written to your devastated parents about you? You’re much better than this Chris surely? You have to be.
Point well taken. thank you for the well thought and reasoned comments. I thought hard about commenting on the situation but felt it was something that needed to be said.
I can’t for the life of me ever understand why someone in the military or a family member of someone in the military would ever back a Democrat. The reason our military has been cut so deep that we barely have enough troops to make the deployments we are committed to. I wonder what in the heck would make anyone not understand that the Mr. Trump was pointing out the disparaged life of females in the Muslim communities.Wake up is all I can say. mr. trump did not call for a ban on Muslims. he did not disparage Anyone all he did was call into question a known diabolical inequality of woemen in the Muslim world.
I heard a interesting thing in regard to who to allow into the country.they said, I’ll give you a pail of m&m’s but I’ll include eight poison amongst them. You won’t know which ones are poison…… Do you want them??????? And prooving trump wrong will never make Clinton right.
Fully agree, and well written. 24 year USAF Vet. The sacrifice was the son’s. He went above and beyond the call of duty. I too am sorry for their loss. But as stated, if Trump hasn’t sacrificed, neither has Hillary, Bill, their daughter, or Obama. And where is this man’s sympathy for the families who also sacrificed at Bengazi? The Democrats are Patriots when it’s convenient.
I disagree sir with several parts of your letter. I am a Democrat, and to say I have little more than contempt for our military is way out of bounds. I am a mother of a US Airman , he was deployed to Afghanistan. My sister is an Airman, she deployed to Kuwait and Iraq. My daughter in law served in the Navy. My father served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and is interred at Arlington National Cemetery. I love our GI’s with all my heart. It breaks with the loss of every service member. For you to have contempt for me, is a slap in my face and America’s face. You should be ashamed.
I don’t know where you read I have contempt for you. I don’t know you. I also don’t think you speak on behalf of America” any more than I do. Thank you for your comments.
So Chris,
You say; “It is important for all service members (and apparently, their families) to understand that service to this great nation does not imbue one with special privileges or rights. I found your comments troubling when you said: “Have you ever been to Arlington cemetery? Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing and no one.”
And also “He was not forced to serve”
Have you ever looked at this?
From army.mil, info on the Gold Star program…
The United States began observing Gold Star Mothers Day on the last Sunday of September, in 1936. The Gold Star Wives was formed before the end of World War II. The Gold Star Lapel Button was established in August 1947.
Today, the nation recognizes the sacrifice that all Gold Star Family members make when a father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, or other loved one dies in service to the nation. The strength of our nation is our Army. The strength of our Army is our Soldiers. The strength of our Soldiers is our families. The Army recognizes that no one has given more for the nation than the families of the fallen.
And this from a Marine website…
“OUR PROGRAM’S PURPOSE
We honor the legacy of fallen heroes, support the missions and needs of their families, and raise awareness for Gold Star Family Day.
Nothing can adequately prepare a family for the news that a loved one has died while serving our country, just as nothing can erase the pain caused by that loss, but we strive to ease this burden in any way possible.
Whether it means reaching out to a family and providing them with information and a sympathetic ear, putting them in touch with other Gold Star families, or helping establish an event, memorial, or foundation in their loved one’s memory, we do whatever we can in their time of need.
Each year, Gold Star Legacy holds a Luminary Initiative to raise awareness of, and support for, Gold Star Family Day, on the last Sunday in September. On this day, organizations and individuals around the country come together to light star-patterned luminaries at sundown to honor and recognize those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.”
I’d hazard to say many people would disagree with your way of looking at things.
Yes, he volunteered.
I don’t think Mr. Khan said anything about wanting “special privaliges or rights? When you assert this is what this is about you seems to be dishonoring every family that has ever lost someone who was serving this great country.
It seems in your desire to discredit Mr. Khan’s words and question them because of what “platform” he used to speak them, you have forgotten a time honored program used throughout the forces to recognize a families loss, when someone dies in the service of our great country? Are all the Americans who support these programs wrong in doing so, because you say “he was not forced to serve”?
I get you don’t like Hillary and her party.
I get you’re a Vet and proud of it.
But what I got out of this is you attack a man because of where he spoke.
Why aren’t you attacking what he said about the Constitution? Seems to me he does have a better grasp of it than build-a-wall-keep-them-out-belittle-women-make-fun-of-handicap-reporters-sue-happy-failed-business’s-rude-Drumpf?
No I don’t like Hillary myself. But Drumpf ain’t the solution either. Both are about the worst selections these two parties could come up with. But Drumpf is scary-bad!
You speak well. Better than Drumpf, all he could muster was something in his usual disrespectful style, about Mr. Khans wife. How presidential… But please don’t belittle every family that has lost a loved one to make your point…
(Now, all the haters can comment the heck out of this in an attempt to support and defend you. Benghazi this! Emails that! Obama this! Hillary that! DNC this!)
Certainly was not my intent. In hindsight I could have phrased that better. I have read the comments.
Read the article!
And as a 24 yr. Vet, I pray for your families safe return. But read the letter again. And know Democrats and liberal media are playing Mr. Khan to the hilt. I am an Independent. They should have just dropped it. If the policy of the last 8 years had been better, ISIS would not exist in todays form. Mothers of Bengazi would not be mourning too. And did the DNC show that? How about the lives we are now going to lose fighting Radical Islamic Terrorism? The ones we have already lost in the US and France, Belgium, and Germany to name a few. Look at history for the last 8 years before you condemn please.
“Are you intimating that YOU sacrificed? Sir, your son willingly sacrificed himself. As a father I cannot imagine the pain you must feel but his sacrifice is his own.”
I completely disagree. This is a shared sacrifice from the time his father and mother sacrificed to give his son a better life in this country, to point where his son death sacrificed everything to give back a better life for YOU, his parents, and everyone in this great nation.
“Does it matter whether Mr. Trump has sacrificed “…nothing and no one?””
Yes it does matter. Did Trump’s kids decide to join the military and fight? Did Trump ever ask or force his kids to join the military and fight? Like him, and many Republicans and Democrats in Congress, probably not.
But sir, thank you for service and sacrifice.
Not cool at all bro not cool
Trump has ultimately insulted Muslim americans, Hispanics all over the country and you truly need to back up your republican choice. His words create divisiveness in this country, then he contradicts himself. Trump is by far the most unqualified for the presidency. Disparaging remarks after another he further digs a huge hole for himself evey time he opens his mouth. Criticism of this family is way not cool..
If you read the back story on this guy, he sounds pretty shady. Remember, they really don’t put much value on life, theirs or anyone’s! I think this was a royal set up by Clinton!!!
Bravo! !!!!! Well said sir, and thank you for your service
Sir,
I hope you have watched wih anger and disgust as both parties have trotted out various members of the military to do thier bidding.
If the military gets involved in politics we are on a very steep and slippery slope to a country that is not democratic.
The use of the military in this way seems to have started in the last 20 years with campaign speeches disguised as ‘talking to the troops’. I felt sorry for the soldiers who were probably required to be at those events. And the officers should have known better.
So proud of this military member. He is right as a previous military member I applaud him!!! Thank you for your service Chris Mark!!
Information is being revealed that Kahn is an immigration lawyer with ties to the Saudis and OPEC, and ties through a DC law firm connected with the Clintons. Kahn has defended Sharia law and has connections with the Muslim Brotherhood. From reading the comments, there appears to be a lot of people claiming to have moral authority that they do not. Kahn’s son died in the Iraq war, a war that Hillary Clinton voted for, and Kahn’s son fought and died at the hands of those of his own faith. Kahn was killed by people who espouse the same ideology as those who massacred people in San Bernardino and Orlando in the past year. How many more US civilians need to die on their own soil with no protections for people to get the fact that you or one of your family could be next. I do not want anyone for US President that does not care to protect US civilians. According to FBI director Comey, there are terrorist cells in every state now and unchecked immigration has made this possible and as an immigration lawyer and lobbyist, Kahn has assisted and aided. The promotion and defense of immigration is Kahn’s business.
Chris, your remarks are so off base. You insult any family that has lost a relative in defense of this country. You want to condemn a man for speaking out about loss of a loved one to get votes where is your condemnation of the mother that put down Hillary for the loss of her husband to get votes for the Trumpster. You owe every person who has lost a loved one in defense of this country an apology
I most certainly do not. If someone publicizes that death then they are open to commentary. Simply being a family who has lost someone in the service of our country does not offer a ‘free pass’ from criticism. Sorry.
Mr. Mark, as a Navy Veteran, I find your disrespect of Gold Star families abhorrent. You comments are a slap in the face to all Americans. I notice that not once did you call Capt. Khan a brother in arms. Well, sir, Capt. Khan is my brother-in-arms. You are an ill-informed propagandist.
You take all of that from the fact I did not call him “Brother in arms”…wow..OK. I am certainly not ‘ill informed’.
All this from someone who has probably excused every single fault the Republican nominee carries. Again hypocrisy at its best. What you wrote is respectful and nicely written but falls short of being genuine when you don’t mention the man who has hit just about every single ethnic group with an insult of some sort. Really marine? I’m a fellow military veteran AND I WHOLEHEARTEDLY “DISAGREE” WITH YOUR STATEMENT.
Rodney…have you read anything I have written? Please read my Open Letter to Sarah Palin. You claim I am hypocritical based upon your assumption. Please do your homework.
