Watch Lt. Col Brad Carr speak on CSPAN about US Crisis Response in Africa. I am proud to have called Brad my friend for over 20 years. He and I served as Enlisted Recon Marines together in the mid 1990’s. He has gone on to have a stellar career. In addition to being a Recon Marine he is also an Army Ranger, Infantry Marine, Royal Marine Commando, and the former CO of 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company who was tasked with standing up 2nd Force again. Very good guy and a true American. Watch the video!

Yesterday I found out that a Marine brother’s wife (Colleen) was seriously injured in a hit and run. Colleen, who is a mother of 2 girls, was hit by a driver as she was crossing the street in Charlotte, NC and sustained life threatening injuries. According to her husband: “Colleen is in ICU. She has multiple fractures: Arm, Face, Back, Ribs. She was Basically Broken From The Waist Up. She had just started a new career at the Marine Corps Base Parris Island. The Doctors say the recovery will be Long. Immediate needs are Lodging, Meals, Rental Car, etc. While Someone Stays Here in Charlotte, N.C. while she’s in the Hospital. We don’t have any family who live here. For the Long Term, She and Her Girls will be getting a new start on Life And Will Need A Lot Of Support From All Of Us. Please Pray For Her and For Her Girls, Chelsea, and Victoria. Any help is Much Needed and Will Be Greatly Appreciated! Thank You! God Bless!”
As you can imagine this puts a huge strain on a military family. She has a long recovery and her husband is at the hospital by her side. Some Recon/Sniper brothers have helped out but they need more than we can give. If you are moved or feel compelled to help this family, please visit their ‘GoFundMe page’. No donation is too small.
Thank you!

As a former US Marine Sniper I still enjoy the science and craft required for long range shooting. While my days of sniping are well behind me, shooting at 1000+ yards still gets my blood flowing. I have numerous rifles chambered in everything from the .416 Ruger to 8mms, .308s, .270s. 300 WM etc. Here is my review of the new RPR. At the 2015 ShotShow Ruger released it’s newest rifle the Ruger Precision Rifle. Chambered in the venerable .308 Winchester as well as the .243 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor the rifle was designed from the ground up for precision. It shares numerous parts with the AR15 platform and comes with a 20MOA rail for long range shooting. After some research I decided to purchase an RPR. Imagine my surprise when I found that they were listed for $1,100!…some dealers were selling them for as little as $995! (more…)

Please consider helping. Jessie Fletcher is a Scout/Sniper who serve with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines (1/6 for most of us) and was wounded in Iraq when an IED exploded. (he is no longer on active duty but you are always a Marine). He lost both legs above the knee and he and he is in need of a Wheelchair accessible home. Jessie spent over a year at Walter Reed National Medical Center recovering from his wounds. If you are moved to donate, please consider donating to the cause OR (if you don’t want to donate) you can buy some badass Bravelets for yourself or your loved ones! $10 from every purchase goes to Jessie’s cause. These are cool! This man sacrificed a LOT for us…let’s give a bit back in return!…Even if you can’t donate, let’s help this HOG (affectionate term for Marine Scout/Snipers) get his house by spreading the word. Many brave warriors have sacrificed for us…the least we can do is try to give a little back when they return.

I am always proud when my Marine brothers and sisters excel! There are few Marines who have done better than my friend Rudy Reyes. You have likely read about him in the book Generation Kill or watched him in the mini-series of the same name (in which he played himself). He has also been in Ultimate Survival Alaska and numerous other roles. Today I learned that Rudy was going to play the lead role in “Inside Fighter” and “John Came Home”. The film is currently in production and is looking for more funding! If you are so inclined…think about contributing to the project. Read more about the film here.
50% of profits from John Came Home go to “The Raider Project” As stated on their website: ”
“The Raider Project is a non-profit organization based out of Holly Ridge, NC. Our mission is to connect with MARSOC and Reconnaissance veterans to help them transition smoothly, peacefully and successfully into the private sector. We do this through PTSD and TBI counseling, unconventional brain treatments for disorders of the brain and central nervous system, short term financial assistance, resume coaching and small business support, get-away retreats and fishing trips as well as community sports programs.”
